Thank you to all those who attended the AGM. It was a great evening and the talk by Barry Foster from Blood Bikes was excellent. Just as we do within our Advanced Driving and Riding Group, its nice to see others giving something back to the communities they live in. The generosity of the volunteer heart! During the AGM and Committee meeting that followed we have had some changes of roles within the Group. Our new Vice-Chairman is Simon Brook, taking over from Phil Sharples, our new Associate Co-ordinator is Anita Clift, taking over from Alan Prescott and our new Lead Observer is Simon Brook, taking over from me. Thanks to you all for stepping up and continuing to support the Group.

We are always on the look out for members to join our Observer team and pass on their driving skills to others. Observer training is not onerous and you would be given all the support you need to pass the National Observer Assessment. Your time commitment after that would need to be a dozen or so observed runs per year – enough for you to retain your Observer skills. We are also on the look out for people to support the work of the Committee. It would only be a few hours of your time per month. Please consider this. By spreading the load among many will help the longevity of the Group.

As you will know, we had a new website created 12 months ago. I’m the sole website manager but I’d like others to get involved with its management. Id like to offer two online training sessions to show people what happens behind the scenes of the website. I’ll use Google Meet for the meeting. If you are able to join the meeting then you will have the skills necessary to understand how the ‘backend’ of our website works! Please  email me to register your interest to join these online website training sessions.
